Unlock a Pathway to Permanent Residence with the Agri-Food Pilot Program

Are you an experienced, non-seasonal worker in the agri-food sector looking to secure permanent residence in Canada? AV Immigration & Visa Services Inc. is here to guide you through the Agri-Food Pilot program, designed to address the labor needs of Canada's agri-food sector.

About the Agri-Food Pilot

The Agri-Food Pilot offers a pathway to permanent residence for non-seasonal workers in specific industries and occupations. This program is open until May 14, 2025.

Recent Changes to the Pilot

Effective February 10, 2024, the following changes have been introduced:

1. Applicants residing in Canada can now meet either the job offer requirement or the educational requirement.

2. Work experience gained under an open work permit for vulnerable foreign workers now counts towards the work experience requirement.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible for the Agri-Food Pilot, you must:
1. Have an eligible job offer or meet the educational requirements (if residing in Canada).
2. Have eligible work experience.
3. Meet or pass the language requirements.
4. Prove you have enough money to settle in Canada (if applicable).
5. Have maintained your temporary resident status (if already in Canada).

Job Offer Requirements

If you reside in Canada when you apply, you can meet either the job offer or the educational requirement. If you reside outside of Canada, you must meet both. The job offer must be:
1. In an eligible occupation within specific industries.
2. Full-time and non-seasonal.
3. Permanent and located outside Quebec.
4. Meet the prevailing wage for the occupation.

Educational Requirements

If residing in Canada, you can meet either the educational or job offer requirement. For those outside Canada, both are required. You must have at least:
1. A Canadian high school diploma, or
2. An educational credential assessment (ECA) report showing completion of a foreign credential at the secondary school level or above.

Work Experience Requirements

Your Canadian work experience must include:
1. At least 1 year of cumulative, non-seasonal, full-time work in the past 3 years.
2. Experience in one or more eligible occupations within specific industries.
3. Work experience gained through an open work permit for vulnerable workers or a work permit issued based on a labor market impact assessment (LMIA).

Language Requirements

You must demonstrate proficiency in English or French, meeting Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 4 in:
1. Reading
2. Writing
3. Speaking
4. Listening

Submit your results from an approved language test taken within the past 2 years.

Settlement Funds

You must prove you have enough funds to support yourself and your family when you settle in Canada. If you are already working in Canada with a valid work permit, you do not need to provide proof of settlement funds.
